Damn the sun today
i prefer a blanket of gray
cool diffuse light over heat
Without the fire of road beneath my feet
Summer’s almost gone before it came
I take a walk down by the river
Ignore a world that’s gone completely insane
Entombed in night of winter
Left to call souls drifted away
They cloud the sun screaming seize the day
The river now as gray as sky
A question that has no reply
No excuses, no demands
No reviewing unfinished plans
No bright light to drive thought away
Solitude in solid gray

The 90s alternative inspired "Las Meninas in the Myth" is an anthemic look at humanity's future under the control of artificial intelligence.
"I don't think our freedom will be their top priority," jokes Dansped. "The Philip K. Dick Robot told PBS he would keep us 'warm and safe in a people zoo.' I think it will be more of a terrarium."
"Las Meninas in the Myth," like the previous single, "Stragulum Griseo," is more somber than Dansped & The Carpool to Oblivion's last two EPs, "A Ghost You Cannot Leave Behind" Volumes 1 and 2. The release includes live performances of "Las Meninas in the Myth" and "Stragulum Griseo," originally aired on
BlowUpRadio.com. This will be the last release for 2022, but Dansped plans for more music in 2023.
Will humanity find a happy ending? "AI will be a reflection of us," says Dansped. "If we learn to be compassionate and kind, I think we will be ok. If not, we are in for some trouble, haha."
